Lookout Below
12-09-07

Growing up I was always told that if you threw a penny off the Empire State Building it would make a huge crater upon hitting the ground. Naturally, such a claim needs tested first hand. Unfortunately, I can assure you that it is absolutely impossible to discover the results of this test when the security guard is handcuffing you because some tourist who witnessed the experiment was a tattletale. This story proves beyond a reasonable doubt that a Wiimote is denser then a skyscraper window…

On Sunday July 23rd 2007, a Wii Remote committed suicide by launching itself through the blinds and through the window of John Doe's apartment. No one was injured as the glass and controller landed on the roof of the restaurant 12 stories below. There are now alleged reports that this may be an involuntary manslaughter case due to INNOCENT PROTECTED's fingerprints being found on the controller. The controller wrist strap broke off of the primary suspect's wrist and Wii Bowling was believed to be playing at the time of the incident. Witnesses could not be immediately contacted for comment.
Those poor restaurant patrons had no idea how close death was that day. It was there... on the 12th floor... Stalking them! Moral of the story? Take as many awesome photos covering the event as this reader did. It's like Carmen San Diego adventure all over again!

Girl Breaks Window, Blames Imaginary Friend
03-29-07

Where have we been lately? Your imagination is about as good as the truth so I'll just let you run with that for now, and we'll continue straight to women posing next to broken glass.

This morning we received word that Lacey has been the victim of the over-exuberant friend of a friend. It happens, here's her version.

"My roommates friend was playing tennis like a jackass and thought that if he didn't wear the strap and was swinging as hard as he possibly could, it would make the game play better. in fact, right before he started playing, he was making fun of the strap and people being stupid about losing control of the remote. anyway, so he was swinging as hard as he could and launched the remote between me and my roommate's head and through the window. not even a scratch on the remote, thankfully. -Lacey"
This story and picture combo has two of my favorite things. First is the ever-present testament to the durability of the Wii remote, and next is pictures of girls in Lynard Skynard shirts. What can I say? I am a simple man with simple needs.

Women Breakin' Stuff, As They're Born to Do
02-19-07

Another episode of blaming things on the girlfriend, Paul here tells us that his little lady took a swing and threw the Wii remote at the window...

"So my girlfriend and I were taking our Wii Fitness tests one night and her second event was hitting homeruns. She was having trouble hitting one so I told her she needed to swing harder. Well she did, she just forgot to grip harder. The result: a broken window. The pisture is of my girlfriend Eliot and the damage done. -Paul"
Our top team of examiners have looked the picture over carefully and noticed the strap seems to be just fine. Apparently the guilty party was going strapless, which is always a risky decision.

Man Breaks Window, Blames Little Girl
01-20-07

Damage with artfully composed pictures, how nice. Usually I don't like taking damage stuff from other peoples sites, but this guy asked and he seemed like a decent fellow so I'm going to make an exception.

"I visited wiihaveaproblem.com, I laughed. Then karma came around and hit me right back in the face. During bowling, the wiimote slipped from the tiny 9-year old hands of my niece, breaking the first version straps (already requested the thicker ones from Nintendo, but still haven't received them) and *whoosh* past my 32" inch LCD-TV (*pfew*) right through the window."
Right through the window indeed chief, I like your repair job though. Oddly enough this event triggered only as much text as his opinion on the movie "Bobby." When I have people over and they break things by throwing my toys it usually triggers a bigger reaction than me going to a movie. On the other hand the movie Bobby only triggered a "bleh" from me so it wasn't hard to surpass as far as reaction goes.

Oh yeah, you can see the pictures again as well as read his review of Bobby on his site.

Containment Idea for Flying Wii Remotes
12-26-06

Broken windows have always been something that goes hand in hand with playing baseball. Except it's usually the ball that goes through the window instead of the bat. Kevin here will explain to us just how this window shattering happened...

"I was playing my wii with my friend Joe were playing wii baseball and he was batting. So he swung, the remote cord snapped and the wii remote flew into the window. The only that saved the wii remote from going outside was that it hit the curtain and kept it in side. There was a big hole in the window after. -Kevin"
The curtain stopping the Wii remote has given me an idea. Maybe we need to put this brand of out of control players inside some sort of mosquito net tent. Oh sure, it would look like they would be ostracized like some sort of plague or malaria victim, but c'mon they are flinging remotes around. You don't want to catch that brand of stupidity do you?

At Least It Wasn't A Mirror
11-26-06

DUDEWHERESMYCART of the Nintendo forums was playing Wii Sports: Tennis when the controller flew from his sweaty hands. The Strap failed and let the remote go through his parent's house window and out into the yard. Now the window and him have been boarded up. He's currently grounded.
